Blackwood is situated 6 miles north of Dumfries on the A76; it is approximately 70 miles from Edinburgh and Glasgow. The house was originally a tower house built in 1750. The drive is about three quarters of a mile long with magnificent woodland on one side. The largest event that has been held on the lawn was dinner and dance for 320 people. There is however a lot more space if it is required. There is also ample parking for coaches and cars.
